The Elves of Cintra ExcerptHi all,
Here's Terry Brooks reading from his new novel, The Elves of Cintra:

Can't say that I liked the last releases of this author,
but I loved the early Shannara novels,
since they introduced me into fantasy literature.
So, I quite enjoyed this, and hope you do too.
Yours,
Rafael

oh, yes!!!! the sword of shannara was the first book i've ever read in english. i think i understood every tenth word, but i grasped the general meaning.
two weeks ago i found it in an old box and bought wishsong and elfstones on ebay - so they're the books i'm going to read next...

Elfstones is very good as well, but then the series starts to degenerate. The last highlight is "The First King of Shannara", detailing the prequel "Sword". Apart from that, the other novels are mostly badly written *default* fantasy without surprises... IMO, of course.

I didn't care much for Sword of Shannara. But I hear the books get better after the first one.

Elfstones is really good to read. After thatm the series declines after Wishsong.
Several continuity errors pop up, and the *Heritage* novels are sometimes as boring and pointless as *The Wheel of Time*.
However, the series might have a boost very soon, since the movie rights for *Elfstones* were optioned by *New Line Cinema* some time ago...
