My very, very favourite site for Non-TSR RPG items!Hi all,
*No, my fav site for JG is Plaag's of course! But this site here, which contains an amazing index of classic RPG items pointed me to Midkemia RPG and DragonQuest!*
Go check it out and get lost in so many wonderful stuff...

I realize this is possibly an old hat for most of you, since the owner is apparently an Acaeum veteran. Now, I stumbled over the site about two or three years ago, browsed it for hours, but then forgot to save the link...

Here was the original site that inspired the newer one: http://www.stud.uni-hamburg.de/users/afterglo/rpg/nontsr.html

Oh, so it's the same user?! And, judging from his server address, a German! Gotta contact him some time soon!

What a shame, I'd have liked to meet such a savioe collector in person.
Thank you for the info, though. Saves me to write that email.

What's cool is this: http://www.afterglow2.com/Product/Balboa.htm. That one copy known to exist? I own it.
(Alas, the game itself sucks mightily, but hey, you can't have it all!)

One day, when we have an RPG museum, or the like, you will get a LOT of money for this!

And everyone will admire my signature on the first page. Yes, I marked my one-of-a-kind game product, collectors. What are you going to do about it?

I have this item from the original list. It's not shown on the 2nd version of the list. It's in good shape except for a 1" long mark underlining the word Galore! on the front cover made with what looks like a highliter pen and some staining on the back cover. I bought off a local book store shelf sometime around 1980-1981.
From the original site:
"Monsters! Monsters! Monster! Galore! - Written by two gentlemen known as Raymond Robertson and Clifford Robinson. This is a small digest book of D&D monsters. There are no further clues inside the book as to when it was made. Pretty obscure! "

I also have the 1st edition version of this. It is in mint condition. Unfortunatly I bought this on ebay and probably paid to much. Especially since it was not what I was thinking it was. I was looking for something based on John DeChancie's fantasy book series. This is a game system with no connection to the books. I had seen a reference to this item in an on line list (maybe this same one) about 2000-2001 and had been looking for it ever since. No one I talked to had even heard of West Wind Games. Then I saw it on ebay and got into a bidding war with some gaming Museum out in California. After searching so long for it I WAS NOT going to be over bid. I ended up paying $125.00 for it. Like I said probably too much. Oh well, I do own a rare piece of gaming history
From the 2nd site:
Castle Perilous by James T. Sheldon
72pp Digest-size book with card cover + 5 reference sheets.
Published in 1980 by West Wind Simulations, Verona, Missouri.
Boxed Set - 72pp Digest-size book with card cover, 4pp booklet of tables, 4pp scenario booklet, 5 lead figures, 3 six sided dice, 3 additional poster booklets/play aids.
Republished (2nd Edition Boxed Set) in 1981 by West Wind Simulations, Verona, Missouri.
A complete FRP system emphasising the roleplaying aspect of the game. Rules are specifically designed to give players who act out their character's roles effectively a greater advantage. Image and description courtesy of Shane Glodoski.
This is the only known product from West Wind Simulations. They may have packaged the additional scenario booklets included within the 1981 boxed set separately, for owners of the 1980 1st Edition of Castle Perilous.
My copy includes the scenario book as well as all the other items listed in the box set except the d6. Instead it has a seperate chart that is to be used to generate a random number between 1 and 6 by placing your finger randomly on a column and running the finger of your other hand down a random distance. It is definatly the 1st edition book.
