This is one of my favorite adventuring locations. You have everything from lost cities in the Suss Forest, Slavers and humanoids in the Pomarj, ruined castles and sacked temples on the coast proper. Its a quick sail across the bay and you have can hills and desert adventures. Political intrigue with Greyhawk City to the north.
So how many of you use the WC as an adventuring area on a regular basis and why?

I agree that the Wild Coast is an excellent starting place for a campaign. The only time I chose it for this purpose though was my very first GH campaign , back in 1987. I drew several detailed maps of the hexes west of Elredd because that was where the characters hailed from, and populated that area in minute detail - something for which I don't find the time for these days...
Since then, I've always picked a different place whenever I started a new campaign on Greyhawk: The City of Greyhawk, Hommlett (of course), Lendore Isle, North Province and the Yeomanry/Keoland border area.
As much as I like the Wild Coast, I'm always more interested to see how other regions of Greyhawk 'feel' when playing therein. Which doesn't mean that I would never start one on the Wild Coast again, of course. |

My very first adventure ever took place there. The infamous Dungeon of Zenopous from the blue book. The DM placed near the Pomarj. I was hooked from there on Greyhawk and the Wild Coast. We adventured everywhere but always seemed to end back there for some new adventure. Or to generally cause mayhem

Ivid the Bowman once travelled to the Wild Coast after barely escaping a certain dread temple south of the village of Nulb...
Well, he could have fought the evil slave lords that were endangering life there, but he chose to open a tavern,
and after a while and some unpleasant meetings with the local authorities, decided to return back to his homelands in the Great Kingdom... :laughing9:
Yeah, that's how we messed up this famous adventure...

I love the Wild Coast. My first Greyhawk game started us PCs there. Walking along the coast to Elredd. My character, a gnome illusionist was from the Gnarley.
From Elredd we ventured west to the Suss and the Keep on the Borderlands . . .

We've adventured in the Wild Coast a few times, but will soon be making our way back there to deal with the Orcish Empire... _________________ Yep, I'm the same Extempus from the WoTC message board... |
