Aproximately how much time do you think occurs to go from Waterdeep to Shadowdale? I was thinking about a year, since my PC is from FR, she has some geogarphy knowledge (I don't remember now how much) but she has never been there before. Of course she will not be alone, she will be with a party or she will go with caravans.

UM I have done the calculation in the past, and i think it's more like a year yes, if you look on the map you'll see the distance is really far actually. Say 30 miles per horse per day, correct? And we travel the roads as shown on the map so here it is roughly:

Waterdeep to Scornubel = 700 miles
Scornubel to Tilverton through the Reaching Woods = 510 miles
Tilverton to Shadowdale = 240 miles

1450 miles/30 per day =48 days hmmm not so bad unless the horses cant do 30 per day then its more days but not a whole year. ANyone clarify?

Well, Caravans would go more slowly than that, and they would spend about half the time resting/selling things in large cities in the way. I.e with 20 miles/day it would be about 75 days. x2 because of stops = 150 days or a 5 months.
Since a player character would skip a caravan for a short adventure here and there, it would be more like 6-8 months.

In a campaign of mine, some chars tried to go from Waterdeep to Damara. It took them a year.
