Hi all!

And here we go with the next big release for JG!

http://www.goodman-games.com/4601preview.php

Even though Badabaskor hasn't arrived yet, I can't wait to have this item in my hands!

Any opinions, ideas, whatever...?

Yours,

Rafael

Another JG monster adventure will come in handy, especially since I never got too inclined with running the new, updated Thracia...

The preview is up

http://www.goodman-games.com/4601preview.php

This is a massive re-working of the 1978 original. Quite honestly, most of the material in this adventure is new or heavily modified. The original concept (the citadel of the evil wizard and his apprentices) is still there at its core, but everything around it and about it (plot, history, depth, level of difficulty, etc.) has been completely overhauled. This is 128 pages of adventure set in the Wilderlands of High Fantasy, and with implications and plot threads that you can immediately use to influence/alter the rest of your WoHF campaign.

The biggest difficulty in releasing this adventure was setting the "level". Actually, this adventure could be suitable for characters of 9th level through 14th, but the publishers wanted us to narrow it down. Getting started in the town and cemetery would afford suitable opportunities for the lower level characters (if handled correctly by the DM - maybe use the detailed town setting to create a couple of small 'errand' adventures which would increase the characters' experience and bring them right back here). But based on the playtesting (which I did not conduct), the tougher parts of this adventure should give the 12 - 14th level party a good run for their money.

As with every Judges Guild adventure ever published, Bob Bledsaw's original concept applies: the individual DM can and should modify this adventure as much as they need to in order to make it work for their campaign. Adding customization is encouraged. For instance, the town is very detailed, but there are a few unmarked buildings and a few key 'roles' left unfulfilled (no baker, for example). Use these opportunities to customize the adventure to your campaign (a bad guy the party has been chasing to the ends of the earth is suddenly the new baker here in town...and bad things have been happening since he showed up, etc.).

I have my copy already, so this is definitely on its way to the stores. I would encourage any Judges Guild fan to purchase this from their local gaming store (to support the industry), but you can also purchase a copy from Amazon.com (if you can't find it locally). I'm sure it will hit the shelves early next week.

Hope you enjoy this adventure. It was great fun to write all of the new characters, plot, history, etc. I'm sure Steve E. and the Eostros team (Greg, Kara, and Rob) would agree. And special thanks to Bob Bledsaw for letting us overhaul the heck out of his 1978 original, and to Goodman Games for publishing this. I hope they are rewarded with decent sales on it.

Thanks,

Steve S.

Looks great!

Can't wait to get it! I hope the stuff will sell well - not because it's JG stuff, but because Badabaskor, and,
judging from the preivew, this one as well, are of splendid quality!

Well, so far it appears that somebody's buying it:

It's bouncing between 19 and 45 on the Amazon "hot new releases" list for RPG,

http://www.amazon.com/gp/new-rele...-9271214-8677665?ie=UTF8&pg=2

And is # 2 on RPG Shop's D20 Hot seller's list,

http://www.rpgshop.com/default.php?cPath=_1_260&

If you have your copy, please let us know what you think.

Thanks!

It might take a while until it's available in germany, but then I'll get it!

I'd need the info from the module anyway, since I am currently compiling a huge JG timeline for my game...

I noticed it's available at at least one gaming shop in England, so I think it's making its way around the globe.

Once you read through it, you'll definitely be glad you have it if you're doing anything 'macro' with the Wilderlands world. I put several meta-historical tidbits into this module which, if the DM so desires, can be used to inspire further Wilderlands adventures. Just reading through it may give you ideas for other adventures or of sub-plots to add to your campaign. As an example, there is more additional information about the Markrabs in this adventure.

This updated adventure was all about bringing the Wilderlands to life.

That will certainly be cool, especially considering the book's page count.

I have started working on an extensive JG timeline.
Will take some time to complete it, but is an extremely entertaining work.
